Description & FAQ below |
|
This video was created with four main objectives in mind.
1)
To replace the concept of childbirth being an experience that a
woman must endure in order to have a baby with one of childbirth
being a celebration that allows a woman to fully experience love,
honor and respect for the miracle of creation.
2) To demonstrate how a structural imbalance within the female
body can result in in-utero constraint for the baby, with pain and
dysfunction within the bodies of both the mother and her child.
And, to inform the public that chiropractic care can effectively
realign bony structures, correct the imbalance and remove interference
to the flow of nerves and blood vessels. Also, that the incorporation
of craniosacral therapy can support that work by restoring balance
within the soft tissues of the body.
3) To give every woman a visual of the birth process that removes
the mystery surrounding childbirth, instills the confidence that
comes with knowledge of the process, and supports the power of innate
intelligence.
4) To demonstrate the primitive reflexes that help prepare a baby
for life outside the womb, assist in the journey through birth,
and serve as cornerstones for proper growth and development of every
human being. (Persistence of these primitive reflexes after the
neonatal period signal dysfunction and/or disease within the nervous
system.)
Frequently Asked Questions about Vol. 1
Is this just the Hands of Love book “on video”?
Dr. Phillips, “Not exactly. It is a video representation
of the information given in the Step 4 chapter titled: Seek Relief
for the Discomforts of Pregnancy”.
Does the video present birth stories?
Dr. Phillips, “No. This video was designed to educate birth
attendants and parents about the impact of structural imbalance
on the baby within the womb and on the mom who is carrying the baby.
Although, it does end with a brief view into the delivery of a chiropractor’s
baby whose doctor agreed not to break the bed down, agreed not to
attach a monitor, and who encouraged the parents to ‘hand
deliver the baby to the mom’.”
Why is the 3D animation important?
Dr. Phillips, “Because many people have a limited visual
image of the baby in the womb and of how the uterus is firmly anchored
to the pelvis. Once they see how structural imbalances can disrupt
the optimum positioning of the uterus, which results in in-utero
constraint of the baby, they understand the need for chiropractic
care and craniosacral therapy to correct the imbalance.”
Does the video focus on the biomechanics of the birth process?
Dr.Phillips, “Yes, very much so. I wanted birth educators
and parents to visually witness the miraculous design of the birth
process and to see how a mother and her unborn child create a symbiotic
relationship as they enter into the journey of childbirth. I wanted
to demonstrate how the unborn child was given primitive reflexes
that not only prepare their brains for life outside of the womb,
but also help them maneuver through the birth canal. It was my hope
that birth attendants and parents who watch and understand the importance
of allowing a baby to maneuver through the birth canal in their
own time (and with the conscious cooperation of the mother) will
do all they can to prevent the need for medical intervention.”
What other videos are in the planning stage?
Dr. Phillips, “Well, in Vol. 1, I demonstrated how an imbalance
in the mom can result in a mal-position of the unborn baby, pain
for the mother and future structural problems for the child. In
the future, I plan to create a series of educational videos. For
example, one video that would teach craniosacral therapy and myofascial
unwinding to the body workers that treat pregnant women and another
one for birth educators that would demonstrate that certain supported
positions can help correct structural imbalances that result in
premature contractions, rib or hip pain, or back labor. I also plan
to create videos that would provide chiropractors who specialize
in pregnancy and pediatrics with additional educational materials
to help them in their practices. This first video incorporated the
introduction to primitive reflexes because I also plan to create
an educational video to help parents and educators who deal with
challenged children understand how complications and alterations
in the natural birth process may lead to persistent primitive reflexes,
learning disabilities and a condition called Sensory Integration
Dysfunction.”
Is their any special discount pricing for students, doulas and
midwives?
Dr. Phillips, “Yes, of course. All they need to do is ask
for a discount and I’m willing to do whatever I can to get
this material into the hands of the people who will use it to help
educate parents about the need for chiropractic care and craniosacral
therapy.” |
